During this visit, our neurosurgeons will review your existing MRI, explain the findings in clear language, and outline your treatment options. This service is available both in-person and via telemedicine.

What is cervical arthroplasty (artificial disc replacement)?

Cervical arthroplasty is a motion-preserving alternative to fusion. Instead of locking vertebrae together, a specially engineered artificial disc replaces the damaged one, maintaining natural neck movement and protecting adjacent disc levels from accelerated degeneration. It is ideal for younger, active patients with single or two-level cervical disc disease.

Dr. Marcus Stephens is a board-certified neurosurgeon and the founder of Nova Brain and Spine of GA. With fellowship training from Case Western Reserve University, he brings specialized expertise in skull base surgeries, complex brain procedures, and advanced spine surgery.

After completing his medical education at Meharry Medical College and surgical residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Dr. Stephens pursued additional fellowship training to master the most challenging neurosurgical cases.

Dr. Stephens is known for his patient-centered philosophy, treating each individual as if they were a member of his own family. He specializes in concussion evaluations and treatments, offering comprehensive care from diagnosis through recovery.
